WMCAT Award for Imagination
Carbon Stories, Gorilla, and Mosaic Film Experience
This year we highlight three organizations who partner with WMCAT’s Teen Arts + Tech Program and have re-imagined what it means to provide access to opportunities for teens. Carbon Stories, Gorilla, and Mosaic Film Experience bring new levels of partnership and creativity – particularly to our media arts programs. They help teens through mentoring, opportunities to work on real-world projects, and shared access to loaned equipment and creative resources.
WMCAT Award for Innovation
Consumers Energy, Michigan’s largest energy provider, joins WMCAT on a journey of innovation and design. We recognize them with the Award for Innovation because of their commitment to people, planet, and Michigan’s prosperity through innovative smart energy initiatives like Circuit West; and embracing design thinking to transform customer experience.
WMCAT Award for Inspiration
The WMCAT Award for Inspiration is presented to Jasmine Hayes, a 2013 Pharmacy Technician graduate from the Adult Career Training Program in honor of the late James C. Welch, WMCAT founding board chair. Jasmine Hayes embodies inspiration through her continued persistence to support her family through a growing career as a Medication History Technician at Spectrum Health. As WMCAT innovates to meet new challenges, we are grateful to the visionary men and women who served as our first leaders; and the many alumni who share the WMCAT story through their own success.
