Summer Intensive
Creativity doesn’t take a summer break!
Summer is fast approaching, and we are thrilled to introduce WMCAT’s new Summer Intensive—a dynamic 3-day creative experience where students can explore 3D animation; ceramic tile, bead, and button making; metal stamping; 3D sculpting; and more! Summer Intensive runs July 14 - 16, from 12:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Through valuable feedback from students and families, we transitioned our summer camp program into a Summer Intensive to create three immersive days of creativity, exploration, and learning. This format provides students with greater access to our professional studios and teaching artists while offering the flexibility to engage with multiple artistic disciplines.
INTENSIVE DETAILS
- A focused 3-day intensive format packed with hands-on artistic experiences.
- Daily participation in two artistic studios and one group activity lead by professional teaching artists.
- All supplies, a swag bag, and snacks provided!
The Summer Intensive is open to all students who will be incoming 7-9 graders, with a program cost of $200 per student. A limited number of full and partial scholarships will be available.
2026 SUMMER INTENSIVE SESSIONS
Summer Intensive is July 14 – 16 from 12:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Teen artists will participate in all activities each day.
No artistic experience required.
TUESDAY, JULY 14
3D DANCE PARTY: Learn how to create a digital scan of yourself and animate it using online software like Blender. Build the background of your virtual world and party in an alternate reality!
CERAMIC TILES: Imprint your own design on ceramic tiles. Add color and shine to your piece with glaze!
GROUP ACTIVITY: Learn how to make textile art! Create a unique felt design with needles and wool.
WEDNESDAY, JULY 15
3D MODELING: Create color and model a 3D character in Blender. Build on introductory skills for character design.
BEAD + BUTTON MAKING: Sculpt your own unique accessories. Add texture and lines to personalize your jewelry.
GROUP ACTIVITY: Create a personalized collage wall hanging. Use mode podge and magazines to make a masterpiece!
THURSDAY, JULY 16
3D SCULPTING: Use sculpting tools to enhance your unique character. Add texture, form, and expressions to your virtual creation.
METAL STAMPING: Create dog tags and custom name plate pieces. Use tools to add charms and other fun decorations.
GROUP ACTIVITY: Paint a watercolor greeting card! Learn how to shade, mix, and utilize color theory for your piece.
